What Causes Dandruff?
Exact cause is actually not yet known. Multiple factors are thought to play a role in dandruff development such as excessive growth of fungus (malassezia furfur) on the scalp, high sebum or oil production on scalp, hormonal changes, individual susceptibility etc.
Why are we bothered about Dandruff?
Mostly its a cosmetic problem, due to unaesthetic flaking of scales on scalp, landing on to the face and shoulders. But some times dandruff causes itching and even acne formation.
